SAM REMIX INTERACTIVE ART POP-UP

In 2016 Sensebellum had the opportunity to transform the Alvord Art Lab of the PACCAR Pavilion into an immersive new media experience for the Seattle Art Museum’s annual
event, SAM REMIX.

Projects like this are where the magic really shines for the room was a blank canvas with plenty of space to make a great experience.

To properly fill out the room three versions of the The Sandbox of Life were deployed as primary interactivity. In addition, there was the 3D Printer Exhibit, numerous video activations, plenty of diffuse lighting, and many inner illuminated CUBIX Cubes configured as cocktail tables.

Overall the place was a great compliment to the event as the space offered a glowing beacon of something different from across the venue.

Once inside the lighting changed the entire scene and provided plenty of room to mingle, meet people, and interact with some wild art.

Above is a sample of the video content displayed on the large projection screens inside of the room. The objects moving about the space are going through an evolutionary algorithm that steers them towards the target in the upper section. Another visual example of the parallels between the natural and digital worlds.

Many thanks once again to the curators at the Seattle Art Museum for the good times and great event!
