AUGMENTED REALITY PROJECTION MAPPING AT NFTTYX

In 2018 Sensebellum was invited to contribute an interactive art installation to the NFFTYX AR & VR Gallery in The Vera Project inside of the Seattle Center.

A custom installation showcasing something new that underscored the dynamic and feel of what an augmented reality experience can be.

All it took was an open space by the landing of the main staircase and the ideas started flowing.

There were going to be a lot of people and the event was to be over a few days so the flow needed to accommodate many guests at once and for long durations.

Playing off of the event’s emphasis of AR and VR it was thought that a large wall of interactive projections would be an excellent start.

From there the weather was getting colder in the Pacific Northwest so an element of snowflakes came into focus.

After putting the two together a custom application was built using a camera, projector, and software to enable visitors to interact with and catch the simulated falling cold stuff with their entire person.

The activation was a hit with hundreds of people coming through the space over the course of a few days.
